Richmond AID 21 years old Quite an achievement! Richmond AID is celebrating its 21st anniversary as Richmond upon Thames' leading disability charity. Starting as a small advice and information helpline, we have grown a great deal since. As well as the aforementioned helpline, we now provide specialist benefits advice, Richmond SPADE (our gardening maintenance service), Families and Outreach project, Access project and audits and of course we are the Strategic Lead on Physical Disability. We are grateful for all the support we have received from our clients, funders, other charities but most of all the volunteers, trustees and staff, who carry out our work. Without their continued support, effort and enthusiasm we would not be where we are today. So thanks to you, Richmond AID is looking forward to next 21 years!

Richmond SPADE - gardening service update We are pleased to report that we are resuming Richmond SPADE in late April. As we don't have full funding, we will have to charge a small fee of £10 for up to 3 hours. We do have a bit of a backlog of clients but we will do our best to see everyone. We are also working with Age Concern and the Handy Person Service. For more information or to make an appointment call us on 020 8831 6415 or e-mail us at SPADE@richmondaid.org.uk.

BSL Health Workshop & Comedy Gig 25 March 09
Richmond AID is working with the Richmond & Twickenham PCT and the Sensory Services Team to give Deaf BSL users better access to health services in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. On Wednesday 25th of March about 20 Deaf BSL users turned and had a really useful discussion about the various problems they've had accessing their GPs, surgeries and dentists and what can be done to improve it. All this will be put in a report with recommendations of how to make access to health services better. After the discussion and some much-earned food and drink, Deaf comedian John Smith did a great comedy gig. Further information will be available shortly so please visit our website soon for a full report and photos. |
