Richmond AID - Together for 20 Years 1988-2008!
Key Strategic Organisation
What does a Key Strategic Organisation do?
As part of our KSO work, we aim to do two major things:
. Be the leading organisation for physical disability in Richmond
. Developing our Network of local groups
The first includes:
. Being the best known organisation so that people refer themselves to us and we can either help them or refer them on to others
. Representing local groups and disabled people
. Improving our information for all our groups and for other people
So what have we done recently?
. We've been invited to attend the launch of Kew Palace (one of our Trustees met HRH the Prince of Wales)
. We gave a presentation to the Disability Equality Action Partnership
And the second includes:
. Supporting local groups with information
. Arranging Network meetings
. Improving the Disability Action and Advice Centre (DAAC) for improved access
So what have we done recently?
. We've completed a small library - now open to anyone working in any of our small groups to borrow from
. We've arranged three network meetings
. We've been talking with the council about a proper strategy for the DAAC to try and develop a long term plan so more people and more groups can share the facilities.
